Jamie Marie Lazzara is a remarkable woman. She began playing the violin at age 8 but knew she wanted more. She wanted to make music literally but was told that girls cannot build violins. She left her native USA for Italy to learn the craft. Now a master she builds instruments from scratch using no power tools. Her violins have been played by the best including Itzak Perlman who swapped his Stradivarius for her instrument when he played at the Obama inauguration in January 2009. She tells her own strory.
